Hanna Yusuf was a 27-year-old BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) journalist known for her in-depth investigative reporting, She died suddenly in late September 2019. The cause of her death was not immediately known.
Yusuf wrote for the BBC News website, and also worked as a TV news producer. She spoke six languages, including Somali and Arabic, and throughout her career, had spoken with serious crime victims and whistleblowers. Hanna had also written for the Guardian, the Independent and other outlets, according to the BBC.
I just happened on this story and am in awe of her accomplishments and saddened that she did not live to fulfill her enormous potential. It is also the life I would have wanted for myself. As a child, I dreamed of being “a girl reporterâ€. I didn’t have the maturity, the focus, or the personality to fulfill that dream. I am closer now, but my “whatdayawannabe†ship sailed a long time ago.
So I am sharing her obit to let my Blog friends in on an exceptional life. There is still no news on the cause of her death.
xx, Teal
