Recent Doings ...

Last Wednesday, traveled to Moffitt in Tampa. Routine follow-up. Nothing new. Going back in October for the bilateral mammogram. We met up with a dear couple we know, Karen and Dennis, joined them in the cafeteria. Dennis is getting treated and our dates just coincided. They gave me a mood lift because they have that kind of charm.

Today I got a prelim blood sample taken because I see the endocrinologist next week and I hope he will decide that I need more synthroid than what I am getting and that I can work out of the fatigue I feel daily. I was doing okay with the increase he gave me early last year, then I got the d*i*a*g*n*o*s*i*s and had to stop the hormone therapy (maybe that’s connected to the thyroid) and I got the surgery and the 90-minute radiation zap to end all zaps (except it maybe didn’t) and I have to think these events are part of why I am moping around, but still looking good and that’s a plus, if entirely a mystery.

Meanwhile, Ed's mood fluctuating with the market and he gets p....d with me because I "know" things will work out, and, sure enough, the market jumped back up today. Moral: It does no good to get depressed about things you can't control and are not going to change your strategy over. As I explained to Ed, the market isn't what it was -- it is nutso because of day trading and is unbelievably volatile. I refuse to care about it.

I didn’t walk this morning because of the blood appointment, so I got my bike out around 3:30, avoiding the heat as much as I could, but the sky was overcast and as I started the return route, the wind kicked up … and kicked up … and kicked up … and I cut my route short and it was all I could do to pump myself home and not get blown into the grass. It was sheer determination because I didn’t want to get trapped under someone’s carport waiting for a storm to stop. The upside: I got a real workout. Choke, gasp.

!@#$%$ time: I need a plastic set of storage drawers and found the perfect size that Sterilite makes – but Target and Amazon and whosits only sell them in sets of two – I don’t need two and have no room for a second one anyway – and no shipping if you spend $50 and the two come to $49.99 (and, yes, that is indeed under $50) and the shipping charge is $29.90. Plus tax, comes to just under $100. And it is only available on line. I am not willing to pay $100. Target may get one of my famous letters.

Seems like the marketers are just out to getcha.

So we are having sautéed chicken thighs tonight. With Greek salad and the ever- present boiled potatoes that Ed likes. Ed will have diet Coke (guh) and I will have Sauvignon Blanc because I am civilized.

See ya,

xx, Teal

I passed up a clear chest at a garage sale that the woman was storing her
sewing supplies in. I will buy it if I see it still there and you can
pay me back. I also got the most beautiful white afghan and a pink one
for my niece. These beautiful hand crafted items go for so little that
I always buy them and give them to whoever needs them. The white one I
am keeping for myself.

your right they are out to get you.On the good note I like your choice of Sauvignon Blanc.Diet coke that is awful. But if he likes it what can I say?
You seemed to be a busy woman there and good for you.Never had sauteed chicken thigh and matter of fact Mike is not too keen on it.
He sticks with the chicken breast.I always say with meat with bones has more flavor.Oh!I hope that this is not what they think of.
I have a confession to make,I always felt that you did not like me or my living style.I guess this stem on way back in my earlier days.
Nevertheless,I do enjoy reading your post and marvel at the things that you do there.I had to get this out.A lot of people frown on being gay and I hoped that you do not feel this way.
Take care and best to Ed.

I'm not sure how you got this impression, about you being gay. I have since my teens had gay friends, starting in music college. Sometimes I wished one or two weren't gay, if you know what I mean. I sensed at one point, that you were not comfortable with me and I made an effort to turn that around. I had gay nurses, male and female, who were part of the team taking care of my late husband. They were wonderful.
