I came home Sat. afternoon just as dusk was falling. It had been rainy and warm for several days, but at dusk the rain had stopped and the air got chilly, causing fog to begin to form.
Across the road from my house there is a frog pond in my neighbor's pasture, and fog had formed over it and writhed in ghostly tendrils over the road toward my place. I parked in the driveway to watch it. The fog was a white wraith reaching with slow graceful embrace toward the trees. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

Drove to Leakesville to get milk and eggs. It seems like I'm in the store a lot lately, but every time I get ready to eat, I can't find anything in the frige to cook..My Army Sgt. husband called this "Piss Poor Prior Planning." Ah so. I suppose I should make out a menu and have things on hand.
I drove with a highway patrolman ahead of me the whole way, and I made sure I stayed behind him. Just about the time a truck passed me, the HWP put on his bubble lights and turned around. Yikes! How could he tell I was speeding with me behind him? But no, he was stopping the truck. Good!
Coming home saw that two HWP cars had pulled over a guy who was standing outside his car with that "deer in the headlights" look on his face. I felt for him--OH how I hate getting stopped, and it's been a looong time since since that happened to me. The only way I can move fast these days is by putting the pedal to the metal, so have a tendency to gun it. But being good (and getting older) has made me more cautious.
Y'all be good, and cool it, y'hear? susil
