Time Together 20081019

In other news. Life goes on.

Mr Gopher made a big pile of dirt in the yard yesterday. Another one in the garden this morning. Little beasty.

We practiced take downs in Kempo class yesterday. In these you basically pull your partner down by the wrist. My right wrist hurts today after being tweaked too much during that. The guy I was practicing with is significantly stockier than me. It was easy for him to manipulate me, but I had a hard time getting leverage on him. Technique helps, but I'm still learning it.

We went out to dinner last night another family. The daughter is the girl that Kitty did the belly dancing performance. They have some type of sheep dog with no tail. She wags her butt, but there's no tail to go with it. It's funny to watch. The mother is one of the two teachers of the "Ethnic Dance" the girls are taking. She does the African dance and the other teacher handles the belly dance. The reason for going was to visit this restaurant that has a belly dancer. The girls liked it, but the woman didn't start until about 8:30, so they were both getting tired by then. I don't much like belly dancing, but they do and if it gets Kitty into some activity, that's a good thing, for now.

This morning Dolly and I took some time for snuggling in bed before the kid woke up. It's not often we do that. With the stuff this week, we have been talking more too. I told her it was good that we were being together more. Spending the time to talk, to have her head between my neck and shoulder in bed this morning, and hold and touch each other.

No need to apologize. It did make me remember him.And I'm usually in a constant state of lonesome.

For some reason, "little beasty" made me laugh.I've decided to start calling the baby that.

I'm really glad to read that you're taking some quiet time and are keeping your perspective.

The mention of the spot between the neck and shoulder made me lonesome.

Our meadow looks like a mine field because of squirrel holes. Then the badgers come along digging for the squirrels and make even bigger holes. We call those little guys "squeaks" because they chirp at each other. They aren't regular gophers, but very similar. What a nuisance!!!!

Gophes can be stubborn. I can't stop laughing and thinking of Caddyshack.
It sounds like a really fun date.
What a perfect way to kick of your day.
