My wife had a party last night with her political people. I hung out upstairs with the cat with the door closed and read. With pottery class I have fallen behind in reading, so I would rather catch up on some of that.
I consider it her thing, like her book club, which rotates to our house and I make myself scarce. I suppose it was bad that I didn't attend this political one because I knew some of the people, but have no interest in discussing canvassing, vote registration, primaries, and candidate-related stuff, which were some of the topics I heard in the words that filtered up.
