It's been a while. Recently I looked around at the related blogging site, but found too many of the old conflicts and political rantings to hang around there.

When I last posted here, we lived in California. We moved to Kansas since then. We left the chickens behind with a family who had some of their own and were willing to take on more. We brought along our cat and the chinchilla. The cat has since died and we have had another one for the last few years. He was a kitten from the pound.

The chinchilla was for our daughter, but she lost interest in him long before she went off to college, as kids do with pets, but chins are long-lived pets, so we will have him for a while yet, but a few months ago we bought a second one.
