Today's short day turned into a longer day than yesterday, but I spent a few minutes going through a Newsweek this evening anyway.
There was an article by Maureen McCormick, the woman who played Marcia Brady, promoting her new book about her addictive behavior and depression, partly due to the expectation that she be perfect because of the Brady connection. The article concluded with: "This is what life is all about: sharing our stories and mistakes, learning from each other, and helping each other to get better."
I recently read the phrase "together we're better", which is a shorter version of that (a sound bite) on a National Osteoporosis Foundation web site. The sharing part in "Marcia's" article reminded me of blogging because of mybloggers's "sharing made easy" phrase.
If I would implement all the things I have learned through interactions with all of you, I would be a better person, don't some lessons take time to sink in.
For example, when I wrote about self esteem recently, people wrote some good comments to the effect that I am who I am and be positive and self confident. We all know that we should be, but sometimes some of us forget.
Meanwhile, the girls have been working on the traveling frog for me to take this weekend. This evening Kitty said she had a surprise for me. I wonder if it's the frog, but they know I know they are working on it, so probably not. I'll find out tomorrow.
I am the queen of the thick skin. Lessons take forever to sink in. That's why I'm constantly in a state of f*cking learning.
You're an amazing person. I'm better for knowing you...even just in this context.
And because I'm reading backwards, I already know that you got the frog and now I'm remembering the rubber band tongue. Tee hee.
