We finished up the other trip on time, so I returned Thurs evening. Kitty and I started a new book, a Magic Tree House one. I read some more to her last night, but we still have a long way to go. She wanted to start it though.
The surprise was Spots, the frog she made. He is cute and came out well. She added a piece of a rubber band for a tongue. She also drew spots on his back, hence his name. He's filled with rice, so not machine washable, but we'll deal with that.
I took a few pictures of Spots at work on Fri, when I wasn't too busy getting things ready for this trip.
As I write this I'm on a plane to Miami on the way to San Juan for for annual trip to do some coral reef field work. The only camera I have is on my phone, but hopefully I will be able to post pictures from it on my new PDA.
The new PDA arrived while I was out of town, but I worked on transferring files to it and installing software on it Thurs night. I left the old at home even though this one isn't completely ready. There was a task switching program I used before, but the programmer hasn't updated it to the new version of the OS. I don't think it will work so haven't tried it. I've only tried to find a replacement. The old PDA was four or five years old. The new one has built in wireless, which should be nice, but I haven't really used it yet. I hoping the built-in browser has been improved too.
One thing that hasn't improved is the touch screen. Typing is done by pecking at the screen with a stylus. The first program I installed was Fitaly, which provides a different keyboard layout, which is more efficient for single-"finger" entry. I'm making a bunch of "typing" errors that are slowing me down. The sensitivity of the old screen was higher and typing was easier. I don't see a way to adjust that.
