Staffing the store efficiently is not your problem. You are already doing more than your job. You are good at what you do. If you have the option, focus on the important job. You wrote that it's not worth the "time, tiredness, and gas usage". Is the satisfaction of helping the manager enough to weigh against that? If so, maybe you should be the manager until Dec.

If your family has a heart problems and you have had this wake up call, then you know what changes you need to make to control it once you get a handle on it. An occasional "slip" is okay.

Repair visit - I knew that. It still works, though frustrating, so I figured it would wait.

On a related note, our local Safeway doesn't carry Boca products anymore
I contacted Boca about it, asking where else I might find them, like a store locator. They were unhelpful. There is still Morningstar at Trader Joe's.
The company wants to get good PR out of this, so you will continue to buy their products, which we do too I think. If the gift card bothers you, then send it back. If they insist, then they will send it again and you can spend it with a clear conscience.
