I'm trying to read Jane Austin's "Emma". I have tried reading others of hers, but don't think I've made it all the way through. This one is supposed to be her "best-loved novel", so I thought I would try it. I'm about a third through it and so far it's pretty dull.
I'm not much of a handshaker, but do it if offered. That hugging and air kissing thing that they do in Puerto Rico was too much. I played along, but thought it was silly.
A late-night, double-feature, picture show, by RKO.
Not quite, but they showed two movies on the long flight from Miami and San Francisco. The first one was "Mamma Mia", a musical which featured ABBA music, and "Get Smart". I had no interest in the second, but watched the first. I liked ABBA back then and still have a "greatest hits" CD I made. The movie was okay. I wasn't expecting anything special. It reminded me of Dolly and how I should express myself better toward her. I'm not going to break into song, but it would be good if I shared more with her. It seems we have been lacking intimacy lately, so I should work on that more.
I watched it to avoid reading "Emma". Guilty.
One thing that I have eaten in Puerto Rico each time we have gone is rice and beans. The beans have some sort of squash in them and a sauce, so it's like a chilli, and are served in a bowl. I might have to look up how that is made.
Home again.
