This was the view out the window at the hotel. Including all the taxes and fees, the room was just under $200 for the night. Spots is resting on a chair with spots like his, except orange and red. If the traffic on the street could be seen, then it would be similar to what we see driving around San Juan. Without the tall buildings, it would be similar to what we saw during our drive back to San Juan.
The buildings are usually one or two storeys and made of concrete. He concrete makes sense given the frequency of hurricanes through there. Florida needs more like that. The windows had sturdy metal frames with cross bars, levelers. On the lower storey, the windows and doors and security bars never them. Depending on the age, the buildings would have rust on those bars, peeling paint, crumbling concrete, or a combination of all those attractive features and maybe a trash pile or mangy-looking dog for extra character and a big satellite dish on the roof. Power and telephone lines across everything.
The buildings were usually white, gray, yellow, and orange, maybe sky blue. Yellow and orange with white trim typical.
The other drive passed a few towns and went through two cities, but was mostly through a hilly forest down the middle of the island, which was a much nicer drive.
I like Spots on the chair... it's like a match that doesn't match...
