There Are Other Blog Sites?

One problem I've encountered when I've sought to check out other blog sites is that you have to join first. With Blogster, for instance, I couldn't tell until after I created a blog that I didn't care for the site because it apparently failed to call other bloggers' attention to new postings as mybloggers does. Consequently, I felt as if I was talking into the unresponsive blogosphere.

I only just heard about tumblr.com. Does anyone have any knowledge about this blog site? I went there and before one can get in to see it, one has to join. I'm uncomfortable with that.

Hi Steve. I now blog at Atheist Nexus. However, despite the site premise, I seldom read the religious rhetoric. It's like preaching to the choir. I'm less involved personally with the bloggers, but I like them. I don't think I've offended any of them like I did here.

The political animosity on Blogster drove me away long ago. I enjoy MyBloggers because of who are here and the fact they do not spam us with infantile political rants. It is also easier to navigate, post photos and we all like to schmooze about things like mountain streams full of trout, foxes, Utah sandstone cliffs, knitting, cats and recipes.

Don't leave us. I look forward to your witty incisive blogs and comments. I
checked blogster.com and don't like the site.

I have a blog at Blogger and get an average of a dozen comments per day, even though I no longer post anything there. Unfortunately, the comments are all spam.
I haven't been to my Blogster blog in ages. I don't think I know anyone there anymore.

Maybe it's me who can't find a summary page for the site, but that one called Blogger is just as you describe - there is no way to see what other people are posting unless you stumble across them via a Google search. When I post on it (I did join it), which is maybe every 6 months, I'm just talking to myself because nobody is going to see it but me.

The Blogster I started with did send e mails for posts by friends subscribed to. I left soon after Eddie sold it and at that point, nothing was much different. But the new owners (who knows if they are still the same ones who bought it from Eddie) started to change things and may have stopped the notifications. My recent visit did show me some things that I found useful: for instance you can locate a post by date. There's a listing of posts by month -- scroll down September, for instance, and see all your posts done in that month for that year. I liked some other features too but can't remember them now.
