I know , I know. Never watch movies, I say. But I watched Groundhog Day last night for the first time since it came out years ago.
My winter life has become repetitive--every day the same routine. I mentioned this to my sister and how it's like the movie. Well, she had never seen it, so that's why we watched it (as it coincidently happened to be on TV).
You know, it's really a very good movie. Good acting with good characters, amusing and charming, suspenseful (in a way), and intriguing. It's simple, yet effective in its message. It made me think.
If every day is Groundhog Day (for me, right now), what am I doing to improve myself? Murrays' character took piano lessons (and more). He dug deep into his soul and personality to discover how shallow he was. Only true love set him free from his repetitive life.
It was no 4 star movie by any stretch, but message/moral cannot be ignored. By the way, my sister went to bed and missed the last hour. Commercials made it 2.5 hrs long!
