With soccer (futball) being the dominant sport in Honduras, my grandson always calls our style "football Americano".

Well, I watched my share yesterday (Sat). What great games they were! Last second wins by several teams with wild, unexpected endings.

In the Illinois-Fresno St. game, I left the room thinking Fresno would tie the game by kicking an extra point. I was planning to return to watch OT. Wrong. They went for the two point conversion, made it, game over. I MISSED IT!! I'm grateful for instant replay (although it is often overdone when reviewing a controversial call).

I try not to get all wrapped up in college (or professional, for that matter) football and basketball, but somehow, I do. On weekends, I plan my day around who's playing. Thankfully, the regular season is about over. But bowl games start almost immediately, so I'll be glued to the set for at least another month. Oh well, I can't golf or garden in December.
