Well, we survived the trip coming and going. That includes surviving each other in a truck for 22 hours (11 each way). Amazingly, no Murphey's Law occurrances--all went according to plan. My sister thinks "God was watching over us". I have no such delusions! Sometimes you get the bear.
I don't know how we got all her stuff loaded up in my small Dakota--furniture, boxes of, well, everything, a cello, etc. We couldn't have stuffed one more thing in/on the truck. We had to leave some paintings that we hope the piano movers will bring back with them in two weeks.
The worse thing was driving 6 hours in the rain. But you know, water seemed to blow over the back. And while things did get wet, they didn't get soaked. We had important things wrapped in trash bags (microwave, books, linens...).
We spent today unpacking, sorting, and redistributing her items throughout the house. As far as my kitchen, see the title. It's been done taken over! But she cooked supper, so I can't complain. Goodwill is going to love us. Or not, after they see what I've been using all these years! Some things I'm supposed to "add to the pile", I've hidden in the basement. But what am I going to do with a microwave oven in the basement?!! Oh, the decision making agony.
I'll be reading all your posts in the next few days. Be patient. Thanks for tuning in to my little soap opera.
