Bits and Pieces

It's the peak weekend of nature's festival of colors. Windy conditions have knocked many leaves off, but the palate is still amazing. I never tire of looking at a wall of trees in a woods in Autumn.

Did anybody notice a different avatar that popped up here on my page for a few days? A Studebaker at a restaurant? Then today, it disappeared. I had nothing to do with that! Mystery to me. That photo is in my album, however.

Fall chores are upon me. Putting away flower pots, raking leaves, digging potatoes, decorating porch with Halloween pumpkins, corn, and gourds. Chair cushions go, along with the grill and charcoal. Storm doors replace screens. My emotions are just the opposite of Spring ones. I'm resigned to the inevitable (Winter).

Won't be long before I have to put away my golf clubs. By the way, I've been playing very well lately. Don't know why. I suppose I should be--I've been playing all summer!

Looks like a weekend of TV football and baseball--sandwiched between walking (or hiking) and working. I still have bricks to clean and lay. It's predicted to reach the 70's today and tomorrow--with some rain showers. We'll see.
Have a good one.

Fall is pretty, but I much prefer spring! Although having a fireplace to warm myself by will be nice this year!

I assume you have firewood? Does Ron cut it?

Putting summer away is always bittersweet. Thank goodness for colorful leaves! I'm dreading winter. We still don't have our heat situation worked out.

at the college where i work, there are lots of trees on campus. one particular tree has a peculiar color. it is mostly green but there is also red, in the shape of a question mark! i will have to take my camera to work to get that picture. it is quite awesome.

I've been seeing that Studebaker for ages. What's supposed to be there?
Maybe Eddie is tweaking the photo program and you're his guinea pig.

The Studebaker is back! I caught up on all of your posts.

You're a dear. My posts are filled with "nothinglies" (new word). And sure enough, there's the Studebaker. How weird!

We've had snow reported here at 8,000+ feet. I live at 5,840, so we'll be next. Oh joy.

Thanks for ruining my day--with the mention of the word s-n-o-w. I have a bad feeling this winter will be a rough one. Thank goodness for my two weeks in Florida in Feb.!

Ugh... I'm putting off a lot of the same chores... last mow and leaf blow, pots that will freeze.... I had one tomato plant in a pot out back. I had a flower on it but there was no chance of a tomato. Temp went down to 20 last night--first frost. The plant was frozen stiff. I'm waiting to see black slime when I go out later now that the sun is shining.

28 is as low as it's been here. Tomatoes all but gone, despite my attempts to cover some of them. I dread cleaning up my garden.
