Dropping By

I haven't have a chance to be on much in the last few days, but I wanted to drop by this morning to say hello to y'all.

My kids are here for the next week and they each had a friend overnight. It was hot and humid yesterday which made it really nice for swimming some of the day, while other parts of the day showered on us with quickly passing thunder storms.

All the kids went night swimming last night. We installed this really cool fountain recently, to our pool, but had yet to have a decent evening to see the light show on it that can only be seen in the dark. The fountain spays out 4 shoots of water and makes a nice splashy fountain sound during the day. But at night, each water shoot is illuminated with ever changing lights. It is really cool.

We made a nice fire in our Coleman pit and could catch a glimpse of the fireworks display being shot off over the river less than a mile from our house, every once in awhile.

My husband bought some of that new beer, Bud Light lime. It's light and refreshing. I like that little kick of lime, lol. Hubby and I actually stayed up to 11:30pm with the young ins . It is really fun having kids.

Today is the 9th annual Downriver Cruise. We have been in this house since the event started back in 1999. All these fabulous show cars and muscle cars cruise the main street of our city. There are radio stations here, bands, all kinds of food and entertainment. Our house is on the first block off the main strip, so we can just walk up the street throughout the day to see the cars or ride our bikes down to the park where most of the extra fun stuff takes place. Our house is close enough to the park that we can hear the broadcast throughout the day. It's quite a fun event for our city. Lots of people have parties and bbq's. It seems like almost every neighbor has family and friends over enjoying the sights and sounds of the event. It looks like the weather is going to be nice, so this should be a spectacular day for cruising.

Anyway...I'd better get going. There's too much to enjoy out there to be staring at the monitor any longer.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. Enjoy whatever it is you're doing today. Say I love you to your spouse/significant other. Hug your kids. Call your parents. Seize the day.

fun times!!! YAY! I think it was a family weekend across the board!
Have you tried Miller Chill? It's the same lime thing, but they came out with theirs first.

Isn't summer a wonderful time? There are nights we sit out by our pool watching the fireworks at Universal, sipping a glass of wine or a cold drink. It's lovely.

Bud light Lime Reminds me of my early teenage years - all us 'girls' would order a half of lager with a lime 'dash'! I finally evolved to lager without the lime

I had such a warm, nostalgic feeling reading this. You sound like you were meant to be a mother, and you obviously enjoy your faqmily very much!
