More Than Zero
My life at the moment is about the numbers.
How much or should I say, how little is in my bank account. How few dates I've gone on in the last year. How few jobs seem to be available to me. How much weight I'd like to lose.
The numbers are against me. But I remain hopeful. I keep applying to jobs online. I keep buying lotto tickets (cause you can't win if you don't buy a ticket.) I keep my online dating profile up-to-date. I'm also keeping up on my social life in case I meet mr. right in person. And I'm consistently working out to rebuild muscle and attempt to lose the 5-7 pounds that I would really like to drop.
And starting tomorrow, I will restart counting my calories. Something I am not looking forward to doing but I know that is where I am failing in my weight loss pursuit. Counting those calories works for me and for the next six weeks I, with some of my gym mates, will be working towards reaching our goals together.
In the meantime, I have a very busy social life this week. Tonight after walking Hawkwoman's doggie, Jasper, I'll head to a friend's birthday gathering at a bar nearby and then dart across LA to catch some other friends singing 70s songs with a live band.
Tomorrow and Thursday, I'm catching local bands. Most of whom I really adore.
Saturday I am squeezing in two parties that are both far away from where I live and far from one another. But both will be a lot of fun and filled with friends.
Here's to hoping that this week's numbers will change in my favor.
