Girl, I feel ya! I read several posts on social media about how we are supposed to feel the same about people who voted for Trump especially friends and family. And I can’t follow this advice. I can’t feel the same about them knowing they support a man who is tearing apart our country for financial gain. Are they not paying attention? Are they not able to hear the lies and contradictions? Seriously, separating families is okay? Is morally right? Is constitutionally right? And I just want to scream when Christians use the Bible to justify these atrocities. .... (taking a deep breath).

Hugs, girly-girl. Sending love from the West Coast. And best wishes if you get that job in Canada!

I don't think you are wrong. I'm so happy you marched. I too marched in Los Angeles with Hawkgirl and it gave me hope because every single person was kind to each other. I have never seen so many polite people especially in the overcrowded subway of LA. But I've also not had so many headaches and upset stomach pain in my life. What this administration is doing is making me ill.
I'm so sorry that your parents need an attitude adjustment themselves.

I'm sooo sorry, doll. I know how much you love your Kraymer-head. And will always love him. Pet him for me. Big hugs!

K-dawg, for all your aches and pains, you sure have a positive attitude! Can't wait to meet your little boy.

Love it all. Random is a great way to catch us up on your life events.

As for the beets, roast them. Preheat Oven 350 degrees, wash off the beets (don't peel) and cut off the tops and bottom root. Rub coconut oil over them (olive oil and/or sprays will work too) sprinkle with a little salt. Wrap them in foil and cook for approx 50 min. Take out of oven and allow to cool. You will be able to slide the skin right off of them. Eat hot or cold.

One of my favorite ways to eat roasted beets: Tear kale into small bites. Mix lemon juice, olive oil and salt (pepper to taste) and drizzle onto the kale. Massage the dressing into the leaves. Add beets and goat cheese for a delicious and nutritious salad.

Maybe I'll have to run the Marine Corps Marathon someday.

It's gotta be tough these days to know what's right and what will make your kid a smarter and a more functional human being for the long run. There is no escaping it but I think waiting till she is two is a solid plan.
Love those cute cheeks. What a sweetheart!

I've seen a few episodes. It's fun to see the process of fixing up homes to see what can be done on a budget.
Would that mean that you would move into the burbs? Or that you need to find out how the bugs are coming in? You should apply to be on the show!
She's a cutie pie and I can see why you'd be rethinking your living situation. I know it's been rough dealing with the bugs and the weather there. Take care and I hope you can find what will work best for you and soon!

I'll be interested in hearing it too. It's always fun to think of the infinite possibilities that your life could become. And if you remember, I took a year off ... okay, 16 months ... to take a break from the type of jobs I was doing. Time off was nice. I miss it sometimes.
Don't overplan. Just jump in when you are almost ready! Like diving into a cold pool.

I hope your Mom can come for part of it too. You should consider doing some batch/freezable cooking before, so in the recovery weeks you have meals ready to go. Consider pepacked smoothie bags in the freezer to pop into the blender anytime. My new favorite is green tea ice cubes for smoothies with fresh mint leaves and green powder. Might want to gather your favorite delivery menus... just in case.

Best of Luck!!!

(Putting my opinions on organized religion aside.) Before you baptize lil Skylar at the Catholic church, check out an Episcopal church. Hans and his wife attend an Episcopal church and they have the ritual and traditions that you are looking for with a greater love for all people including endorsing same sex marriage. Hans' church actually lost their right to marry anyone based on their support and defiance of the law by marrying same sex couples years ago. Hans and his wife had a court house wedding before having the ceremony at church to make it all legal. They keep a lot of the Catholic traditions in their services. They just do it a little better.
