Following my heart
Following my dream
Across the sunny meadow
Down around the stream.
Going where it goes
Wherever it leads me
And where I end up
Is where I will be.
Not in a race
Stopping once in awhile
Sharing a tear that is shed
Or maybe sharing a smile.
A lesson shared
Maybe one that's learned
Like a book read
A new page to be turned.
Living with the sad
Remorse or regret
Hard to erase
Hard to forget.
But we also have happiness
We share our joy
Remembering what we have been given
Making sure we enjoy.
The writer closed his book
Saying what he had to say
Worried not about the past or future
Only about what he had today.
