The sun shined brightly
It was an unusually warm winter day
Perfect day for traveling
On a journey that would take her far away.
This was a special trip
She waited a lifetime to take
In her heart she was ready
She felt prepared to make.
It was her special reward
For a job well done
It was her time
Her day in the sun.
The illness that she had
Holding her in it's painful grip
Would soon let her go
As she started her trip.
But there was another side
Leaving those that she loved would be tough
But maybe with hope in her heart
She would be with them soon enough.
The sacrifices that she made
Throughout her lifetime
Were never given a second thought
As they passed her mind.
She gave passion and spirit
Also her heart and soul
She took our children
And made them whole.
You will always be remembered
More than just from time to time
For as long we have our children
Your star will always shine.
