Where Does it End??
Now that we taxpayers are bailing out all these financial institutions I see Detroit automakers are poised, with their hat in their hands looking for a donation. Then there is talk about the Airline industry wanting a handout too, my question is where does it end and where is the cut-off point?? How much money will the government be willing to spend to bail out all these companies that are facing financial hard times?? With the war still ongoing in the middle east, an effort which is costing us way too much..in manpower and financial resources. We have a wave of apathy sweeping through this country, sure Barack Obabma winning the presidency did raise the spirits and has given this country a taste of optimism..but until President Obabma can show some concrete results I feel we will only sink lower. I don't wish to be a wet blanket here but I cannot see a large change in the direction of this country for at least a couple of years. There is no short term answers for a reversal in the direction this country is heading, and sitting here and laying it all on President Bushes doorstep is neither fair..nor productive. I see in the news that President Obama might be offering Sen. Clinton a cabinet position, possibly as Sec.of State. To me this would be really smart move, I also believe that she (Clinton)would be a natural for the job. Also if I were looking to fill cabinet positions I would look hard at Colin Powell as my Sec.of Defense, an individual who possesses intelligence and savvy to deal with our international counterparts. Every time I hear Sarah Palin speaks makes me thankful of who I voted for, I think for her to become a larger part of the political scene she has to become more involved in national politics. The "Wizard of Oz" will be on television this weekend, and there is no truth to the rumor that Sen. Byrd played the big wizards head..lol. Have a great weekend!
