The Answered Question

The old they were angry
As they shook their fist to the sky
Looking for an answer
Wanting to know why.
But what needs to be known
Sometimes is not that easy
For sometimes there is no reason
For the way life turns out to be.
And then there were the young
Wishing that they were older
Not seeing that the place they wish to go
Of was itself darker and colder.
Other people gathered
Shouting how life was not fair
Rationalizing their lives
And how a simple wish would get them there.
But there were some
Who chose not to complain
Those that were content
For the warmth of a summer rain.
For their hearts
Were not tied and bound
And the joys they had
Were the ones they had found.
So maybe we need to rise
Each time we take a fall
And that may be the answer
To the question after all.

"And then there were the young
Wishing that they were older" Funny I just wrote a blog to post in the next day or two about the perception of time at different stages of life.
"Those that were content" That's me
