My kids were still raised this way. Not so my grandchildren, sad to say. I don't blame it on the government and liberals. I blame it on permissiveness of parents and giving their children too many electronic toys.
Oh, fresh tomaters! Nothing like it! I guess it ages me too because I know exactly what "Monkey Ward" is. Glad you got the rain, and know it was a blessed relief for the firefighters too.
I hope the doctors get to the source of the problem. Kidney stones is definitely a possibility.
Hoping the counseling for Dakota helps. I know he has had some rough times.
And I love children too. I'm so sad my girls do not plan to have more. Kenzie, the baby, is nine now. I WANT another toddler!
Can't believe how warm it is up north and how dry! Of course, we expect it here.
Splitting wood is not my idea of a fun thing to do. Of course, here in Texas, a fireplace is more for ornamental purposes than anything. Two years ago, my kids ordered a rick of wood, and they still haven't used all of it.
Nice capsule of your trip to Michigan. I've only been there once; but the scenery was gorgeous.
I'll still take a motel and a comfy bed, even if it means less vacation time. RV's are for chauvinistic men who want to sit in their lawn chairs, drink beer, belch and fart while women cook, clean, and do the same things they do at home. Vacation????? Only if you are a man!
That was a very foolish thing for Joe to do....a lesson for all of us to remember, whether true or false. Gave me a chuckle this morning!
This is always what frightens me about dams built above towns and cities. Dams are manmade and can't always stand the pressure of holding back millions of gallons of water.
Five more years of heat! NOT what I wanted to hear!
I think placing one's ashes with a person who meant the most to us when they were with us is such a good idea. My dad, like yours, was my hero. I can't think of anywhere I would rather spend eternity than with him.
As for fresh peaches, those are to die for!
So glad Bobby's road is getting shorter with the chemo. It does exhaust you toward the end. When I was going through my seven months of chemo, I thought it would never end. I had several secondary infections and kept having to be hospitalized for them. So many things went wrong that my oncologist nicknamed me "Trouble" and called me that for years when I would go in for my checkups.
I knew it! That sounds like such a miracle that this piece of Americana has been preserved and can now be on blue ray and digitalized so all can see it. Will it be available in video stores?
I too saw "Hello, Dolly" in OKC when she toured with it. An interesting footnote. Years later, her son Channing was the editorial cartoonist for the Daily Oklahoman. Can't recall his last name.
Glad you are back and the Trojan Horse is not! Great pictures of the two precious grandsons.
