FINALLY.
My neighbor saw a 'help wanted' sign at our local nursery. Yup. A NURSERY! I love plants but am not educated in this field. Went there early last week, 3 days in a row to observe people, notice things and jot down my findings.
On Saturday, I inquired about the position. On Sunday I had an interview and was hired! BUT - - - only after a 45-minute nonstop barrage of questions by the owner. She told me what the last 6 months has been like in terms of sales. Down 80% from a year ago!
Main reason: INCOMPETENT HELP!!! She was NOT about to hire ANOTHER incompetent! It was THE most unconventional interview I've EVER had!
-What can YOU bring to this business?
-How OLD are you?
-What's your MODE of transportation?
-How many HOURS can you work? Can you start next Saturday at 10am? DON'T show up at 10am. Come early, put your lipstick on and BE READY to start at 10am!
Then today, I had an interview at the design studio two blocks away. He loved my portfolio and asked if I'd like to work full time, part-time, or freelance! He will give me a package design job on Friday!
Came home to check emails . . . got a freelancing job that will provide a substantial income! Brother!!!
When it rains, it POURS!
