Out of the Closet

It's a local thrift store that delivers proceeds to the Aids Foundation.

We received a Crate + Barrel catalog, looking for new dinner plates. They're reasonable.

Once of the things we've tried to do is hit up thrift stores first to see if they have items we're looking for.

While we didn't find dinner plates, we did find nice, low-profile bowls - the kind that is the size of a salad plate except that it's a bowl.

We also found a set of nice Remy-Martin cognac glasses, for those times when Mr. November and November Jr. share a quality glass of bourbon.

While at the thrift stores, we were blown away at how many people were there shopping. Yep, the Mercedes crowd mingled with the lowlier classes.

Ever since I was a teen, I perused Goodwill and Salvation Army for interesting things. It's amazing what people get rid of. One man's trash is another man's treasure in these situations.

Thing is, it's like a treasure hunt when you find something with a good brand name on it and it's hardly used. Anyway, it's one of our favorite pastimes and cheap dates.

It pays to be a scrounger, and it's fun too...

If you don't take up Cindy's offer, I will! I hate shopping, but Goodwill works for me. Some of my finest merchandise has been purchased there.

wish you could come down, we would go to the wonderful out of the way antique shops in New Orleans, on Magazine Street. Flights are cheap right now, Mardi Gras will soon be here...... What do you think?
