Well, our son was offered a job to tour w/CU beginning Sep. 3 through Dec. 15th! He met CU's tour manager while setting up for Sergio Mendes at the ALMA Awards last weekend. Next day got an offer.
So many things are turning in his favor that we're somewhat overwhelmed by it all. In a very short timeframe, he's acquired a handsome resume and is loving the opportunities coming from each one.
He's been packing to move into a very nice place w/two other musicians from his school AND packing to leave in less than 2 wks for the tour.
His school offered a job to him just last week, to record for them 20 hrs/wk and it still stands when he returns from touring. An indie band comprised of his future roommates asked him to be their tour manager.
We're super proud of his hard work ethic and realize how it compares to this "millenium" generation's sense of entitlement. Some might say we did OK in the parenting department, I guess.
In case you didn't know, CU won American Idol in 2004 and is the 4th most popular country music vocalist. Have a great week everyone - I'm off to jury duty . . . (thinkin' of you, Steve). ;-)
