We had a good time house hunting on Saturday. I adore our Realtor, she helped us find our rental house that we are in now, and she went above and beyond for that so we knew she was a keeper.
The first place we looked at was a big let down. It had lots of land and TONS of character, but it had neighbors all over the place, so we knew it wasn't going to work.
The second place was also a huge let down. The land wasn't flat and we were told it was prone to flooding. The land that was included in the plat was very narrow, and wouldn't work for what we wanted.
The third place was really fantastic. It was on a nice square lot, a barn and farmlands surrounding it aside from across the street, it was close to some major roads but sitting on a private 7.8 acres. The house was "Eh" but work with able, so we were pretty excited. Also there is a barn included on the property, it's a small barn, but functional and that's what matters. There was also a nice fencing system that would be ready to go for the dogs. Wahoo! Our Realtor knew that we were smitten and said we should at least sleep on it and look at the remaining properties we had planned to look at.
We looked at the other two, one had 2 HUGE Ponds on it and the house on it was built in 1776 which I thought was pretty cool. The ponds were super stagnant though and the land was again pretty narrow with a neighbor nearby. I was told about mosquitoes and how they thrive in those environments. Eiw.
The final place had 27 acres so I thought I was going to love it. The house was very old and decrepit - not live in able. It also had no AC and all the out buildings on the property were run down and not usable.
So we slept on it. We went back to the house we both liked a lot on Sunday morning with our Realtor. Sunday evening we put in an offer.
Monday we heard back from the owners - they countered our offer, which we anticipated, and asked for the exact amount we thought we would end up paying. How cool is that? So we are under contract. I am trying not to get overly excited because we still have the home inspection and appraisal to go.
This weekend we are going to the lake. That will be fun. Kraymer will LOVE it because he can swim his heart out... he adores swimming and hates to leave the water, even when it's COLD!
I haven't been sleeping lately... I slept for 2 1/2 hours last night, that is it. Not fun. Hubby had read about magnesium helping insomnia, so he got some for me. I will try it tonight and hope for a sound slumber.
Alright time to end this novel. Happy Tuesday peeps!
