Some Other Things ...

Ron has successfully painted our baby girls room. It's a very light grey color, I love it. I have ALWAYS loved grey and burgundy and black... well, black is slimming, so nuff said on that one? Tee hee. It's pretty though, I like it. I didn't want yellow or green or pink or blue, so a light grey seemed perfect.

I am getting ready to volunteer at a training event this weekend. Friday and Saturday afternoons are when I am scheduled to be there, I hope to learn a lot. As an added bonus, my best pal (who's hubby is HUGE into this) will be there as well, so I get to see her as well. Perfecto.

Ron is getting Lasik tomorrow. My almost blind husband will be able to see without glasses!!! It's a crazy world. He's very excited. I might get the surgery next year, we shall see. It makes me a little nervous, but I also know many people who have had it and couldn't be happier. Life without glasses and contacts? I could deal. :-)

Tuesday I will be taking off for Milwaukee to spend time with the fam. I have a 19 year old nephew who is making some very bad decisions, so I am really hoping that family time can help him out. We shall see. I talked to him a few years ago about things and was astounded over the resentment he still holds toward his father (my brother) over a woman my brother dated for many years. Granted she was the devil, but I would have thought my bro would have worked on that with his son by now. Should be an interesting trip. I do know that a person has to decide to change within themselves, we can only guide...

On a different note, I am SO EXCITED for Milwaukee Frozen Custard! I have already looked up the flavors of the day for the time I will be there. Delish! I can't believe we are on Christmas already... time just seems to fly faster and faster the older I get... AND I have no idea what to do for New Years Eve! I always go out and party it up. Things sure have changed and are only going to change a million times more!

Happy Thursday peeps!

the colour seems to be ok and it must be if you like it --hate my glasses but its on my driving license that i wear them so i must , can actually see better without them at night.
my 12 year old grandson is giving his mother a bad time i had a talk to him but it just goes over his head, he doesn't know when he's well off.

I'm almost a week late this time... sorry. Love the idea of an updated baby room theme! Love that you are still able to travel for the holidays and that Ron is getting Lasik. Everyone I know has been happy with the results so it seems very much worth it. I hope that by the time I need glasses they can fix my far-sightedness so I can read printed words without holding it far away from me or with glasses. It's no fun watching my dad struggle and know that I've got his eyes.

Enjoy the custard! Sounds de-lish - please take photos for me so I can be envious.

Sounds like your nephew needs serious counseling. You didn't say if his bad choices involve drugs or alcohol. If so, I hope the family doesn't all sit there puffing away on cigarettes and slugging back the booze and wine (like it sounds like they do) while trying to convey a message of moderation and balance to him.

Very true. I guess the difference is none of us got kicked out of high school/drop out of college for what we were up to? I don't know. I used to have the thought that we all did the same crap in HS and we all survived, but I was told that as a parent it's a completely different thing. I guess soon I'll understand!

My son had the eye surgery and loves it. I am sure R. will too! Have fun
while you can! This will be your last chance because you will always worry
that the baby sitter is not careful enough with your darling.

You know that is SO true. I worry about the dogs care when I go, I can only imagine my own baby... I am kinda scared for that!

Yes! We are already planning that one... all of us pregnant folks will hang out together and hire a sitter for all three babies!

My husband had eye surgery several years ago. Best thing he ever did! Hope everything goes well for yours. You should go out and celebrate (with virgin drinks) this New Years Eve if that's what you like to do. It might be a while before you have another chance.

We are actually going to hang out for a long dinner with some friends. It will be nice to be with other pregnant people! Good times.

After a life of spectacles (I always had trouble with contact lenses), being able to see w/o them following cataract surgery has been wonderful!!! Perhaps I should add more exclamation points!!!!!

The more the merrier? So far he's happy... he keeps thinking he has to take his contacts out!
