College:

I started college yesterday. I had some issues at the college. But in the end I managed to get all the classes set up. I even managed to get into the Anatomy & Physiology 1 class so now I’m working with 17 credit hours.

Due to one of the issues with the college, I now have to attend three different college campuses in three different towns. I’m just happy the motorcycle gets good gas mileage.

The main campus is 27 miles away and it takes about 45 minutes to get there. Then there is the “K-port” campus is about 45 miles away and it takes a bit over an hour to get there from home. The “E-ton” campus annex is only 7or 8 miles from the house. At least they are all kind of in a line so it all kinda flows together. The only really bad day will be Thursday. I have to go to the main campus, then drive back to the one near the house, then back to the main campus and then back home at the end of the day!

Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are going to be the pain in the butt. The only day that is going to be easy is Tuesday because the “E-ton” campus annex is only 7or 8 miles from the house and I only have the one class that day. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday I will be running over 100 miles to cover all the classes!

On the way home from school yesterday I rolled 45,000 miles on the motorcycle. I bought that thing back in 2004 with only 3800 miles.

Fire!

The neighbor’s house just down the mountain burned to the ground last Friday. I was the one to call 911 and report it. The house was back in the trees so you couldn’t see it from the road, but with my house just above it in the mountain I can sometimes see it in the winter time when the leaves are off the trees.

I was sitting on the couch puttering around on the computer when I looked out the window and saw smoke coming out of the trees. I threw on some boots and grabbed the cell and went out to the tree line to see what was going on. The house was on fire so I called 911. I ran up to my house and jumped in the car to go down the mountain to get the correct address of the house on fire for the dispatcher. I pulled all the way up to the house to see if there might be someone at the house. Luckily no one was there and it sounded like ammunition was popping off in the house so I just backed off and parked the car at the end of the driveway to direct the fire departments.

As it ended up, no one was home. The house burned to the ground, a total loss. It does seem very suspicious because the people who live there owned a second home on the corner that they rented out to people. That house burned to the ground last year when no one was home... Now this house burns too. I left my name and number with the Sherriff deputy and he said the arson investigator will probably call me since I’m a witness…

Anything Else?

I can’t think of anything else to write about. I’m sure there is something though… Oh well!
