Decisions

Ok, not really sure what to do here.

Last Friday had an interview with Company A. There were some issues because I told them I definitely needed to be on dayshift, and they said they couldn't do that. So far, no word back from them in nearly a week, so I think I need to write that one off. The pay package and benefits would have been pretty good, I think. But I would be driving nearly 50 miles round trip and that could be the difference between, needing a new vehicle in the near future or holding off for a few years.

Last Tuesday had another interview, and offered a job on the spot, but on second shift, but I would be driving even longer distances and for much less pay. That one has been pretty much written off.

Today had an interview. Also not the pay that I would hope, but the job is 7 miles from home. I was offered a job there as well, but not the entry level position I was interviewing but for a step or two up the pay scale, due to my experience in manufacturing and running a production line. And it would be dayshift. There is also a lot of opportunity for advancement and there is a good tuition reimbursement program in effect. I told them I would let them know by 2pm tomorrow (Friday).

When I'm done with this post Company A is getting an email in essence saying, "Tell me whether or not you will offer me employment, so I can move on. And you have until 130pm to do so." Hate having to give an ultimatum but it will have been over a week since the interview so I am not amused by this.

Any prayers or good juju would be greatly appreciated!

If they already said that they couldn't give you days they have probably forgotten about you already. But travel time/distance makes a big difference in travel expense and quality of life. Sounds like you will fall into what's best without even trying.
Good luck!

The one that is close to home at a higher level sounds like the one - just being closer to home is worth quite a bit - think ice storm. And dayshift - think ice storm in the middle of the night. In my opinion, those things make up for the lower pay, but I don't know how much lower it is. Studies have shown that people who work those night shifts are not as healthy as day workers. Best of luck.

I'm not into prayer but all my fingers and toes are crossed.
