A Bit More ...

Info:

OK. Back in July, I and my family were in Michigan for my daughter's birthday and we began seriously considering moving back to Michigan.

When we got to back to Tennessee, the first night back to work one of the guys asked me, "Did you hear what (XYZ Company) did? They bought some company in Michigan!"

So after some research I found what would become Company A, in our present tense.

Working through our corporate HR person, who had been our plant HR person years ago (and I had a good relationship with) I was put in contact with Company A.

Even though I was a good match to their production capabilities, being a "new guy" meant being pushed off on the back shifts. Even though I have 6+ years with their owning company... So not good. Ended up being "not suitable to their current needs" because of my need to be on dayshift to care for my three year old. Sorry Charley, but you have missed out!

We'll skip in the job offer in middle because it was dumb, due to too many miles and not nearly enough money to justify working there.

On to Company B. Meat business. I mean that in the truest sense. It was a company that made meat products for everyone. Working conditions were 35 degrees or less inside the plant, and working with meat and the bits and pieces that came with it.

I had interviewed for a base position but because of my background they offered me a job about two steps up from that... Better hourly but I wasn't happy with the working conditions.

Ok. Cut to Friday afternoon: I am talking to my wife about Company B and the "dead-line" I had given Company A and how I was on the verge of saying "Yes" to B only because A had not made an offer.

Phone rings. I get an interview. Now there is a Company C. I call Company B and put them off.
