Today is Tax Day:
I have no idea how in the hell two people who both claim zero dependants at their work for tax purposes, and when we file we have two dependants (M and myself) and somehow we still managed to owe $1243.
Well, hell! It’s not like we have that much effing money just floating around here, especially since I haven’t been working since the end of January. That freaking tax bill right there has just wiped out almost every dime we have saved and a good portion of our checking account.
Granted it’s not going to kill us, but shit, I at least like to have a savings account with some kind of emergency funds in it. Just to let y’all in on something, my damn car is not going to last very much longer, I suspect, and now I will have no way to buy parts when it does break. The motorcycle is in need of a major tune up, and that will cost several hundred dollars as well. If the weather ever warms up enough, I can still ride the bike to and from college thirty miles away in a pinch. And if the car does die on me, I guess I won’t have a choice but to ride the motorcycle, good weather or not.
Maybe Some Good News:
I might have a job lined up at the VA. It’s a part time position as a secretary, but it’s pretty easy stuff, and I’ve done most of it before in some of my other jobs. I really hope I can get in there, because it will really work in well into my Medical Assistant degree I’m working on. Essentially this p-t job is working as a Medical Assistant, just without the pay scale and hopefully not all the responsibility as well. That is something you need a degree for apparently! Ha-ha.
Whatever…
