Hey all. I’m just hanging out right now. I got the results from my X-rays in the mail yesterday. Not bad news, but not exactly good news either.

I have “mild disc space narrowing” of the C3-4 and the C5-6 with “C5-6 disc disease.” So now they want me to go in for an MRI to find out the extent of the damage. Which is fine by me, but it would help a lot if the lady I need to talk to for the referral would answer the frickin’ phone! I’ve only called five times today and keep getting a voicemail. Well, I can’t exactly leave a message because I can’t get a good signal on my cell in the plant at work for her to call me back.

Oh well. I’m not gonna worry about it.

I did a bunch of work over the holiday weekend on the website I’m developing. I figure I have it about 90-95% completed in this current form. I’m having problems with the computer program not allowing me to name individual pages and I tend to get lost in the navigation and links. So I sat down and drew up a chart of the pages and how they were linked so I can look and see where each link goes. I think I’ll pick up a book or two on website developing this weekend and read through ‘em before I go so far as to buy a domain name and start paying for web hosting and such. We’ll just have to see how it all comes together.

Next Wednesday is M’s birthday so I’m going to surprise her tomorrow night at the bowling alley with a cake and flowers. She claims to be 25 still, so I had the store put on her cake “Happy Birthday Michelle, 25 Again!” Our teammates are picking up the cake for me so M will be surprised. I’m not sure just how I want to do the flowers yet, because the store wants a small fortune to deliver, I’m considering picking the flowers up on the way home and dropping them off at the bowling alley then going home to shower and shave and then heading back to the bowling alley with M. Oh, and I need to pick up a B-day card for her too.

No news yet on whether or not I’m going to Europe. Today was a big meeting at work and the bad news was told to us. The company is doing some downsizing. The other side of the plant lost 30 jobs to lay-offs. But my side is still going pretty strong. Especially with the new line coming.

Tonight went off without a hitch. The cake I ordered was a bit LARGE however. I thought I ordered a half sheet cake, but I got a WHOLE sheet cake. Holy cow, we have more than a half of a freaking cake left!

Good news today at work. I will probably be going to Europe. Word is that the idiots they hired have been found out. Their last hope to get this line running, and profitable, will be ME. I have three different operators pushing for me to be on the new product line. I think that it’s because the one operator that they sent with the new hires to Europe the last time says the new people they hired (all but one) are complete idiots and if they want this line to be productive… send me.

I think that with the current economy, and the recent lay-offs at our plant, I need this position just for the job security. Add the fact that the company expects this new line to be a MAJOR source of profit for our division and I will be in major demand. But I had better step up too. I need to be the go-to guy to maybe save a good part of our company….

Am I THAT guy? I think I am.
