This Tuesday, April 22, is Earth Day again. I remember the first one. It was in the early 1970's and became a widespread celebration in its inaugural year. Back then there were very few people you could call detractors, those who ridiculed it or called themselves anti-environmental.
Things have changed. Now it is politically convenient to be anti-environmental, calling environmentalists "tree-huggers" and other names, ridiculing climate change as some kind of political plot, or simply calling recycling a waste of effort.
Piss on them.
Hug a tree. Pay attention to climate change. Put your plastic in the plastic recycling bin.
You will be doing their great grandchildren a big favor.
