Still Here and Staying!

Looks like picture posting is broken again, so I'm trying a link from fb. Goes to show that I haven't been blogging enough since I don't remember code. I started a blog on a different site for 4C Camp for Adults, but I'm clueless on how to precede. Maybe I'll start it here instead (when Eddie returns) since google picks up mybloggers.

In other news, Donna seems to be doing Ok, although the right side of the wound is awfully sensitive. The nurses who change the sponge on the wound-vac can't say much but Donna sees the doc on Tuesday and we'll make sure he uncovers the wound and checks out what's inside. There is black material that has to go one way or another and it doesn't seem to be dissolving on its own. Hopefully it can be handled in the office. Donna doesn't want a third hospital stay.

We downsized on Christmas decorations this year and tried to sell the 7-foot tree on craigslist.com, but no takes. Maybe I'll have more energy next year and put the damn thing up. Not that I mind that part; it's taking it down that I don't like spending time on.

Have a great holiday, although I seriously intend to post again before Christmas.

And below should be the pic from facebook.

That is the best I can get. The first link needs to be right-clicked and highlighted, then "open in new tab".

Hopefully the second link says "click here for photo".

Donna has really been through a lot. Tell her we are sending her lots
of Christmas wishes and I hope you gave her a really great Christmas present.

Her doc appointment got rescheduled at the last minute. First they wanted to make if for 29 December, but she needs to see him ASAP. So Thursday is the day. The nurse who came today (who we know) said it will probably need to be worked on, hopefully with a local anesthetic in the office... gotta wait again. As for Christmas: I got her something she wants!

Eddie said not long ago he is thinking of totally re-designing the MyBloggers interface and get everything working again. That's what I'm hoping for.

How long ago was that? He hasn't been seen publicly since 4 November.

The black tissue doesn't sound good to me. Did she require any plastic surgery at the wound site? Black tissue often indicates dead tissue.

The first surgery was a "panni" which was healing well at first. But the area in the middle where the belly button would be (hers is now gone) didn't get a good blood supply and it began to open and by the time I looked at it it was seriously infected so we went to the ER and the surgery was scheduled for the second operation. The surgeon removed skin and tissue from the infected area and applied the wound vac. I take pics of it every time the nurse changes the sponge and the doc explained what was in the pics last visit, but that's almost 3 weeks ago and the black #### wasn't there then. Probably lack of blood, or worse yet, a clot under the remaining skin, since the area is tender and not healing as well as the opposite side. The nurses (two of them) aren't alarmed, but they don't overstep their position either. Doc should take it apart tomorrow and we'll know something more definite.

He just doesn't strike me as a guy who would go off somewhere and lick his wounds!!!

Naah... he knows the site has been tilted left for quite some time so he just posts more of his party's line. Somebody suggested an extended vacation. I suppose that could be the explanation. He has been away for periods of time before. Too bad about the uploader tho. It does make recruiting new bloggers difficult.

The link and open the link both worked for me. Tell Donna 'hey' for me, and I'm sending best wishes for a faster recovery.

Thanks, hopefully it's an easy fix!

great to hear donna's on the mend give her my regards----she sure doesn't need another hospital stay unless absolutely neccessary ---the xmas tree photo came up but not the other mate

Both links are to the same photo so I'm not sure which one worked for you. I'll keep working on this until I find the easiest way to post pics.

And then the election came and Eddie was VERY anti Obama and he disappears.
comment by greatmartin on Dec 16, 2012 6:54 PM ()
Ya think he abandoned us because we (for the most part) are too liberal?
reply by jjoohhnn on Dec 16, 2012 7:34 PM ()
I'm pulling for Donna!!!
Where did Eddie go?
Can you do a C & P? I do that for my posts here.
comment by greatmartin on Dec 16, 2012 5:50 PM ()
Eddie's last post was on 4 November, but he didn't say anything about going anywhere. He had been around almost daily before that point. I used copy link location, and you see the results of that. I'll try other methods and see if anything works better.

Pretty
I'll have to start showing my pictures this way too.

Sites like photobucket and picturetrail used to be good for this purpose, but I stopped using them when they started charging. This works, and maybe there's a better way, I haven't given up trying yet.

I see no pic but I'm on my phone so that might be why... Hope the doc visit goes well and Donna continues to improve!
comment by kristilyn3 on Dec 16, 2012 4:20 PM ()
I've tried to edit the pic 5 of 6 times already and I can't seem to make it work. Hopefully Donna's problem has an easy fix.
