The recent four-day weather event is over, and the water is receding rapidly. The high wind warning has expired, and most of the flood warnings will expire shortly also. One pump can handle the basement easily now. The torrential rains turned to snow at the very end of the storm last night, but most of that has melted now, even tho the temp is barely 30. The sun has been shining for hours, and at this point in March, the rays are just too warm for snow to survive for long!
The house is cleaned up, and all necessary tasks are completed, so I'm contemplating how to spend the rest of the afternoon. I took a London broil out of the freezer for dinner, and I might be able to use the old BBQ grill one more time to cook it, otherwise it will be the oven broiler (which Donna has gotten me into the habit of using).
Donna is out buying a new grill for my birthday. Well, actually she's probably just goofing off before the spring semester starts next week. She said she wants me to pick out the grill myself, and that's probably not a bad idea. I own three 20 pound propane tanks, and the new grill needs to be compatible with those. Some of the portable grills I've seen look good, but they use the small gas canisters and that wouldn't work out at all. But anyway, I'm on my own for awhile.
The boyz would probably appreciate a walk along the highway, but it's still on the nippy side, so maybe I'll restring my 12-string instead. I've had the strings on the shelf for years! Time they get used! On the other hand, maybe I should continue drinking coffee and reading blogs, although Outlook is unable to send email, and the popup telling me about it every 60 seconds is getting annoying. So I'm outa here.... And as always....
