End Drawing Near

LOL. I just had to make that title.

The end of the living out of boxes and roaming to and fro upon the earth. If the furniture company will deliver our bedroom suite tomorrow, we will spend our first night in our new (used) house!

It rained really hard today, but then slowed down to a nice, gentle soaker. Fortunately, our new roof is working just fine, but the gutters were full up with shingle debri. I got those cleaned out today.

I get so angry listening to the news these days. Politics makes me angry, the economy (which is related to politics) makes me angry. There are no true leaders left in politics. Everyone has a price and someone is always willing to pay. Forget about what's good for the country as a whole. Every little group has to get what it wants or some great tragedy has taken place. NO ONE is willing to make do with less in order to solve some of the most frightening problems in our country. Oh well, enough of that. From the sound of it, many of you are angry, too, (even if for different reasons).

In other news, I've been invited to substitute every weekend for four to six weeks for a pastor in a town nearby in the near future. Why the House pic? I don't know. It's just what came up when I Googled "good pastor". Go figure. I wonder what he would be like as a pastor? LOL Totally not funny!

BTW, kudos to local libraries. I LOVE THEM! And ours has the friendliest and most helpful staff and lots of perks and programs going on. Gotta love that. And, the one old timer who's still there actually remembered me after having been away for six years. Props to her, too!!

The things going on in the political arena right now are really frustrating. Colorado is working on redistricting and wasting taxpayer money on taking it to the state supreme court. It's as if they are finding excuses to waste time and money rather than addressing real issues like underfunded education.

I'm so disgusted with Congress for wanting to cut spending for the elderly to solve our budget crises when there are so many other solutions that would not impact the very lifeblood of senior citizens.

I agree....let's hear it for libraries. Moving is never fun. I still have boxes I havn't unpacked and I've been here over 2 years now.

This sounds particularly ominous for me. I can see that happening here.

Hope you can put your bed together. Ours was rocket science and we had to get help.

They are supposed to do it for me. I understand about the rocket science. We had a table that required and engineering degree.

It does seem that most politicians have a price. We have to stay aware even if the news is dire. The Midwest City library is close and is my
life line. Glad you are getting your bed and moving in at last.

Isn't the end suppose to be May 21????
'NO ONE is willing to make do with less' including Congress and all other politicians--when do they give up anything?

My thoughts exactly.
