A Week Back with a Weak Back

Good Saturday, Blog Pals:
Well, we've been home a week now and no one has been murdered....yet.  I've had a backache  for the last coupla days for some reason. Could be the cool nights or mebee I'm just getting used to sleeping in my own bed again.  Or it could also be "Arthur" progressing. Sigh. What a drag it is getting old.

Work continues on the repairs to Shady Pines.  The sprinkler system is non functioning whilst they obtain a new part for it.  So in order that we could move back in when we did, the Fire Department installed a night watchman in case a fire should occur.  The guy they assigned to us is the oddists of ducks.  He must be about 60 or so and is  gabby, long winded, and one of those  "I've been everywhere and done everything" pains in the asses. And he kinda creeps me out a little, for some reason.  I hope they get that sprinkler system fixed soon.  I'm in no mood to be raped and/or killed in my sleep.  Well, he's pro'ly not all that bad but I am just uneasy.

As I sit here, the sun is coming up (6:15 MDT) and the day is dawing clear and cool.  Leaves are beginning to appear as we have had very mild weather lately. If I wasn't so broke I'd make a
"fish run" to Greeley.  The closest Long John Silvers is in Greeley Colorado (about 45 minutes due south) and I am craving some.  I do love it so. I especially like those batter bits. Yum yum. Well, next month when the eagle craps, I am hoppin' in the Redneckmobile and heading to Greeley.  Three things they do not have here in Cow Snot that they desparately need:  a Long John Silvers, a Golden Coral, and a Boston Market.  It would be just about heaven on earth here if they had these fast food establishements.....and less wind....and some smart people.

Have a good weekend everyone

You go to Greeley? Next time you go, let me know, and I'll meet you there. Thank your lucky stars you didn't end up living there. There used to be a Long John's on the west side of Loveland next to K-Mart, but now it's a dry cleaners.

Yes, hope you can make that run into the next town for fish soon. You deserve to treat yourself once in a while.

I trust my intuitive alarm system, and am glad you do, too.
I recall my last trip to your part of the country. My family and I were staying at a motel with a diner next door we walked to. I recall those wind gusts, we tried to walk between them going back and forth. So much for the hairdos.

yeah, the wind is a killer. when I first contemplated moving here, brother Bubba said " well, yeah we have a little wind sometimes"

we have about 60,000 souls and it's the state capital. from what people say, there was a Long Johns here at one time, but no more unfortunately.

I'm with Kristy. Rely on what your intuition tells you and stay clear of the nightwatchman. When I have "that feeling" about someone, I immediately distance myself from them. Better safe than sorry.

yer right, one's first impressions are usually accurate. if he'd just shut up and take a breath once in awhile I think it would be an improvement.

Trust your gut on that creepy dude. Your insight won't lead you wrong! Stay safe. I hope your back starts feeling better soon...

yeah I usually have a pretty accurate creep-o-meter. but I could be just a little edgy still. everyone else thinks he's ok.

Doesn't seem like Cow Snot is large enough to support all those eateries, but there's no harm in hoping!

The wind is eternal here in Oklahoma and I can only imagine in cow snot that
it is worse. As for smart people, the conservatives around here are
overwhelming. Beware the night watchman.

we've had 60 mph sustained winds here this winter. it blew down several signs, trees etc. and the roof off of Sam's Club.
