Good Sunday Evening, MyBloggerstown:
Well, its been a good weekend for me so far. It's been quiet around here as the little puke across the hall and Mrs. Inconciderate Jackass upstairs have been gone since Friday evening. It was fabulous. Nothing but peace and quiet abounded. Mrs. Jackass is back now but that's ok. I'm satisfied with the hours of peace I did have.
I am really proud of myself. I actually got out early this morning and walked around the block. Of course I was pumped full of Vicodin and I collapsed the moment I got home but I felt a certain sense of accomplishment. It was a great walk, though. In the cool of the morning, there was hardly any traffic nor anyone else out and about. The activity and the fresh air seemed to clear my mind and it felt good to use some muscles that have been neglected. I'm feeling really sore right now but I think it was worth it.
I am another year older (and deeper in debt.I really am reverting to my hillbilly ways. I'm chanelling Tennesee Ernie Ford) today. In 5 years I will be 60.....60. Jesus, where did my life go? I am not ready for this. I did nothing special to celebrate. I got some calls from friends offering felicitations and happy returns of the day. No one from the family has phoned, emailed, sent cards, as yet. Typical.... and I am neither surprised nor particularly bothered by this. I am learning and developing a thicker skin as far as those people are concerned.
Watching the news and getting hacked off. The Jackass Party held a meeting to decide what to do with the Michigan and Florida delegations at their nominating convention. They decided to seat all the delegates but give them each only a half a vote. Still the Jackasses in those states are pissing and moaning about how unfair it is. Tough shit. These people were aware of the rules reguarding primaries and the timing thereof, yet they chose to disobey those rules. Had I been the chairman of the Jackass Committee, I would have told all of them to go pound it up their ass. This is a prime example of what is wrong with people in general nowdays. No one wants to take responsibility for their actions. Rules are scoffed at and then when they are applied, violaters whine about how its "not fair". How friggin' childish. These people are supposed to be adults charged with one of the most important duties in our democracy...the choosing of a candidate to vie for the highest office in the land. And here they are, acting like snotty six year olds who got caught stealing cookies at snack time. I fear for the future of our beloved republic if this is the caliber of individuals who will be choosing our presidential candidates.
Another thing on the news all this week was all this Scott McClellen book nonsense. I hold those who write these "kiss and tell" books in somwhat lower esteem than Amway salesmen, telemarketers and shady televangelists. Now had Mr. McClellen told us something we didn't already know, that would have been a different thing and whistleblowers should be protected but there is such a thing as loyaltiy and this is just greed and avarice. I hope the disloyal little puss bag chokes on it.
Have a good week, everyone.
