Only
2 more weeks and summer is over--well, it is never over here in Fort
Lauderdale--but it is time to start wrapping up things and getting ready
for Fall.
In
getting ready for hurricane/rainy season we needed a new door for our
apartment entrance and the maintenance department put it in but we were
the only one with a white--which I like--door and they had to paint it. I did like the sparkly green coat they first gave it but that wouldn't last long and today we are like all other doors at Gateway!!

One
thing we have around Gateway are Mother Nature creatures. You can see
the holes where hard shell crabs make their homes and hear the frogs
singing their songs but most of all, wherever you go, there are geckos,
all sizes and shapes and, if you can see it in the next picture, a new
breed with curled tails. They are harmless and eat a lot of insects,
including mosquitoes and ants!

A
fairly new addition have been white mushrooms growing in one area of
Gateway. Someone in the know said they were safe, made a salad and ate
it in front of us to prove he was right! Now with mushrooms, coco plums,
avocados, limes available for the picking it is just another guarantee
us old folks won't go hungry!

taking risks on new behaviour, trying new ways
