This
will be a little different from the pictorials I have been posting as
there are a few 'odds and ends' I want to catch up on. For example we
just got notices for the first two shows I will be reviewing this
coming Broadway tour shows with "The Addams Family" in Miami and I will
be seeing "Rain" in Fort Lauderdale for a second time.

As
you know every once in awhile I will point out a few bloggers that I
find interesting and just wanted to add thecoda11 and hillmate at blogster. Also, an
old timer, who every one reads for young adult, sci-fi, vampire,
princess book reviews, lunarhunk who I met almost when I started blogging . He and his partner Ray are the first
couple to have a civil union ceremony under the new laws of Rhode
Island--and this is after being together for 10+ years. In addition AJ,
as he is also known, is starting a new job, a step up from his old one,
in the library field next week and it will be interesting to continue
reading about his journey in life. He is blogging here, at mybloggers, as trekbrarian talking about his 'new' life while still doing his reviews under the username lunarhunk.

Some things that caught my eye in the papers--for complete stories go to sun-sentinel.com Here are some quotes:
"There seems to be more contempt than compassion for the needy these days especially for the jobless and mentally ill."
"$17
Mil The amount of additional aid the United States will donate toward
fighting famine in the Horn of Africa, pushing America's total aid to
the region for the year to more than $580 Mil. " (Good thing we aren't
having a financial crisis here and all Americans are doing okay--right?)
"1, 470 millionaires paid 0 federal income tax in 2009 according to the IRS."
"Medical
debt linked to 62% of bankruptcies. An American family filed for
bankruptcy due to illness every 90 seconds and nearly 3/4s had health
insurance."
"People are
cheating the government by claiming less than their total home income
they take in to get what is called 'freebies' but really aren't."

On
a lighter note I gave away--yes, me!--a 10" key lime pie! I knew if I
brought it home I would eat the whole thing and I am still on that no
sweets routine!
