Tis
the rainy season in Florida so about every day, when you are sure to be
outside, around 2:30 PM the skies open up and all get drenched--a
couple of hours later it is as if nothing happened. Meanwhile my soaked
shirt is hanging in the bathroom.
I
was walking around today taking pictures and once again realized how
lucky I am to be living here at Gateway--these are just a few of the
shots I took.
The main entrance and one of the neighbor's gardens.
The walkway in back of my building and the canal where the manatees play.
Looking out from The Point and from my window
Just some of the wild parrots that come visiting everyday.

From
today's paper: "Given that Florida has some of the highest violent
crimes rates in the nation, some of the weakest gun laws and a gun rate
death higher than the national average, Gov. Rick Scott and the
legistlators cowed by the gun lobby should know better than to support
any measure that makes Floridians more vulnerable to guns."

We now know a thousand things that won't work,
so we're that much closer to finding what will."
