State of Disgrace and Income Disparity--2 Topics

I very seldom post about politics because it is not a subject I am very knowledgeable (but James is smarting me up!!) but these two different subjects get my dander up.

The first (and remember Florida was under the 'rule' of Jeb Bush for the past 8 years):

STATE OF DISGRACE:

When it comes to national rankings, Florida's education system is hardly at the head of the class:
Spending per student: 38th
Student to teacher ratio: 49th
Preschool spending: 34th
Testing placement: 12th
Smartest State ranking: 29th
High school graduation rate: 34th

INCOME DISPARITY WIDENS (AFTER 8 YEARS OF A REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT)

I was looking for the article on the Internet to C & P but couldn't find it--will just quote a few lines:

The difference in incomes between the richest and poorest U.S. families have widen as unemployment failed to decline to previous lows AND TAX CUTS BENEFITED THE WEALTHY.

Average incomes for the bottom fifth dropped 2.5% compared with a 9.1% gain for the top group.

Poorer and middle income families will find it harder to afford housing, education and health care.

The labor market in the 2000s was never really all that robust.

This is terrible! No matter where on the list a state appears, it's a disgrace to be on the list at all! Then, to add to it, those that are rated in the worse of the worse, the disgrace is inexcusable embarrasing and frightening!

Boy do I agree with you. And now we've been further cut with this last property tax thing. My school is cutting 20 teachers. there are school closings going on all over the state. I'm not even sure I'll be able to get a new Journalism textbook next year and mine is 10 years old. This is disgraceful!
