It had been a long time since we ate at the Sage and when I came across a 2-4-1 lunch coupon I suggested we go there. The interior of the restaurant, like all the personal involved, was warm and inviting.
There was a little to-do about the coupon with their saying it was a summer promotion but after I pointed out, and telling them it did surprise me, there wasn't an expiration date they accepted with the requirement that we had to order a beverage so we did with my coffee costing $2.95 and Allen's diet coke $2.75.
Allen ordered the Monaco salad ($15) which was a green salad topped with grilled salmon and potatoes. Allen asked our server Sybille if he could have something in place of the potatoes and she offered more cherry tomatoes. He had a choice of dressing but had it plain. He wasn't offered any crackers or bread with the salad.
I had the Martine crepe ($13) which consisted of scallops, shrimp and mussels (though I didn't see or taste any of the latter) in a fennel sauce. It was quite bland.
With the coupon taking $13 off the bill and the addition of the tax ($1.25) plus tip ($8) the bill came to $30.
The service and surroundings were excellent even if the food was a bit disappointing as compared to previous visits I remembered.
