When it Rains it Pours and Other Things!

In South Florida, during the rainy season, when it rains it pours---no scattered light showers.

Allen
left for the Northeast this morning and I have his car for 2 weeks--was
running some errands like going to the Indians for cigarettes and
visiting The Leisure Times for the first time in 4 years, and had the
driver's window down as I was smoking so the car wouldn't fill up and
smell of smoke. After I finished the cigarette I went to put the window
up and it wouldn't budge--I think the motor gave out--and, of course,
as you would guess it started to pour!!!

As
I told Allen if his house burned down or his car was totaled I wouldn't
call him--why ruin his vacation?--he could find out when he got home. I
did have to call him about this though and the first thing I said was,
"Don't panic!" I explained the situation and the reason I was calling
was just to get his dealer's address so I could bring it in tomorrow
and, hopefully, just get the window up until he gets back or get it
fixed--Iknow that will cost mucho dinero and I hope I have enough to cover it.

I go in for preop (blood) work next Monday and plan to sit down with my doctor and discuss my Power Of attorney, Living Will, being an organ
donor and Gino and Allen having access to my medical records and
conditions. Also, to be able to see me whenever they want. (Also about
having my picture taken when I go into ICU!!LOL)

Been watching a few summer shows--most awful show has to be "The Moment of Truth" and very close for worst is "Diary of a Call Girl"--just out and out porn! Not sure if I like where the new season of "Weeds" is heading but I love Mary Louise Parker. Most of the new reality and/or games shows are garbage.
My friend Mike was driving down Wilton Manor Drive--a busy thoroughfare--when he spotted a long hair dauschound puppy running wild--he stopped the car (in the middle of traffic) as he
was afraid the dog would get run over. The dog had no tags or and ID so
he went to a vet to have him scanned for an implanted ID but nothing
showed up. He went around to house after house but no luck. He took the
puppy home, fed it and washed her up. He already has two dogs and
doesn't reawllyw ant a third but the puppy, who he is calling Princess and/or chocolate chip, (he thinks the puppies coloring is that of a chocolate cookie!!!) and the dog has absolutely fallen in love with. Won't leave his side and is doing all the cute tricks a dog can do when he wants you to keep her. He hast posted about 50 flyers around the area he found him. He feels the dog may have been abused
because she cowers whenever some comes near her but once she thinks you
are okay she can't get enough petting and playing with.

Can
someone explain to me what all this stuff of listing 'friends' is all
about?? Seems a couple of people are really into it, sometimes,
childishly, threatening to take you off their friend list. I don't see
how it affects reading, posting and/or commenting on a blog. What don't
I get???

As I said in a recent post I am trying to wean myself from the whole blogging thing instead of going cold turkey on the 20th--harder than I thought! LOL I have been commenting a lot less and it is amazing how much time is
taken up in that. Like most people I want to acknowledge that you have
read my post and that I have read yours. Then their are people like me
who feel they have to comment on your comment. WOW! All that is
certainly time consuming.

I've gotten a few requests to be added to friend list and/or subscribe to my or their blog--I have
explained to them what the situation is and will contact them when I
get back. Meanwhile I am trying--it's hard--to keep my posts down to 1
or 2 a day and will even try to skip a day--who says I am addicted to blogging?! :O)

I am also debating whether just to unsubscribe everyone and subscribe again when I get back like Robin does.

I really don't understand someone coming to a public forum, posting a blog and then if you disagree with them they tell you not to read and/or comment on their blog--someone has been rude to at least 8 people in the past few days--even telling someone how long a comment they should leave!! LOL I don't care if someone disagrees with me--I can either ignore or answer them--it's that easy. Someone's comment is going to make me feel bad?? I don't think so!
I
am also surprised that someone would take a private e-mail you sent
them and either pass it on to someone else or post it. Again this is a
public forum but I do respect someone who sends me an e-mail privately
and would never think of passing it on to someone else. Something to do
with ethics. And I must admit I was really surprised when I found out who did it--and I am  not talking about a joke or anything like that.

Oh well as Anne Frank said, (paraphrasing), "In spite of everythign I do believe there is good in everyone>"
Now to run down and put a towel in the window so the driver's seat won't get that wet until I can get to the dealer tomorrow. LOL

Ah, yes, rain...not so good when the window is open and everything gets wet. I used to have a car with a window (the front passenger one) that automatically opened all the way whenever there was a soaking rain. I could use the button to raise it up, but unless I continued to hold the button, it would slide right back down. Fortunately, I had a window lock, but if I didn't lock it quick enough (before it started opening), the window would go down anyway.

I'm a wishin' and prayin' that all goes well throughout the entire process of doctors, surgeries, treatments, facilities, care, and you getting well and being back as your ol' self again.

I hope to catch u on phone before the 20th of July! Why not unsubscribing? I know you will read all your friends posts when you are back, its just not necessary having an overfilled mailbox BTW Anne Frank said real good things....

While I know you will do fine, let me warn you. You WONT want your picture taken in the ICU.You may feel like you do now, but you won't. Unless of course you think the arseless gowns make you look sexy. Please keep your reply to 10 words or less...

I think what Mike did with the dog is so wonderful. He is like a little furrykid hero. It sounds like she is ending up in a wonderful home.
Best of luck with the conversation with the doc. It sounds like you are definitely prepared to make sure you guys cover everything you need to!
