I
don't know why Allen is laughing except maybe because the place I
suggested we eat before going to the Caldwell Playhouse was closed and
this was the only restaurant we could find near by and it certainly wasn't what
we had in mind for dinner.
Don't
get me wrong as I love the Original House of Pancakes, the
International House of Pancakes and the Pancake House when I am looking
for a cheese omelet with a side of pancakes but this was a far cry from
Nestor's Deli!
Things
immediately improved when we saw our server Julian. He obviously works
out 24/7 and doesn't eat a stack of pancakes! He was running the floor
alone and did a super job. Sadly I didn't have the chance to use the
service button (on the right) but I do know if I was still a waiter I
would make sure there weren't any on my tables because I would probably
kill a customer for ringing it one time too many!
Allen
had a ham/turkey sandwich with fries and I had a cheese omelet with a
side of pancakes. The omelet was baked, fluffy , crisp, hot and good but
with syrup and butter on the cakes it was a little bit too heavy
pre-theatre and, of course, I should have stayed away from the coffee
and water but that's another story.
