I
started blogging 6 years ago on blogspot and multiply as a continuation
of my having kept diaries for 60+ years and a way of emptying my
closets of saving the books I wrote in over those years. I made one
commitment when I started blogging and that to post a minimum of one blog a day. I kept to that commitment except for a couple of days in July 2008 when
I had an aorta valve replacement operation. In all probability I will
continue posting a blog a day--my diary--but I am no longer holding
myself to that commitment.
I
have also decided to cut down on all the pictures I post just using the
ones I have already, now and then. I will use pictures for movie,
restaurant and theatre blogs and, of course, friends.

I
have really been getting a lot of joy, laughs and warm feelings from
the e-mails Maria, AUSSIEGIRL, has been sending me since she went back home to Perth
on a vacation. She seems to be having a ball with family, friends and
just being home.
She does wish all of you a veryHAPPY NEW YEAR!

Technology
drives me crazy! After 13-14 years with Juno I have decided to change
my IP and already have had to call the technicians 4 times. I can't
cancel my Juno account before the end of January as I would have to pay a
$150 fee! I don't know why but I have a feeling I will be knocked off
the Internet for a few days when that happens!

I
have had second thoughts about posting blogs about certain subjects
mainly because I had just heard recently that blog sites vary as to
minimum age requirements. Is there a standard or does each web site post
the minimum age? I have decided to post those blogs anyway as I feel
they are important and if parents don't want to teach their kids about
sex then it is their responsibility to monitor the kid's surfing of the
Internet. In fact one of the blogs will be about parents failing to keep
their kids safe from STDs for not giving them a sex education BEFORE
they hit puberty! Another will be about the shame of our society that no
one talks about and that is:

One
thing that struck me odd during the whole DADT debate was John McCain
saying that he spoke from personal experience. Was he implying that a
gay soldier made a pass at him?

I hate to admit but I don't miss the Chico kids clogging up the blog site.

I
guess we will get a slew of 'losing weight' blogs over the next few
weeks--not only those who want to lose weight but those who will blog
about all the weight losing gimmicks that DON'T work. Of course by
February the former will stop blogging and just give up, which is sad. I
just wish they knew that losing the weight was the easy part--it is the
keeping it off that is Hell!

There
is a blogger who, so far that I have seen, has accused 4 people over
50--and, yes, including me--of being senile--but then he (I think it is a
he) is 21, going to college and knows it all--don't they? Remember when
you were that young and had the answer for everything or are you one of
those who still think you do?
