Since
the O-B House has opened I have been waiting for them to open for
dinner as they are primarily a breakfast restaurant known for their
pancakes. Being a block away from the Broward Performing Arts Center we
had dinner before going to see "Million Dollar Quartet".
It's a very
comfortable, smartly designed place, though many people are confused by
where the entrance and the exit is and the availability of parking. The
main negatives are that the tables are right on top of each other and
the tables for two are way too small.
I had a 'simple' steak with
roasted carrots and Yukon roasted potatoes ($13) which was good, the
vegetables hot and the very small steak (4 ounces) served hot with the
latter at the temperature as ordered. I had coffee ($3).
Allen had
the meatloaf ($14) with cornbread and a huge piece of roasted broccoli,
the latter almost twice the size of the small piece of meatloaf, with a
can of coke ($2).
The food was tasty, the service was good (though I
was never offered a refill of coffee) but it would be better to get a
little bit more protein and less vegetables. The check was a little over $40.
We might go there the next time we go to the Center but I don't see it for any other reason.
