For about 15 years Allen has picked me up on Thursdays and we would go to The Dollar Tree, Winn-Dixie, and out for lunch! Sometimes if I had prescriptions to get we would swing buy CVS, other times to the bank for me to take money out of the bank, usually, the first week of the month also stop by the cleaners.


Of course, things changed a year ago in March with the first not going to the movies on Friday and for a bite to eat afterward.


Now the 'normal' has become wearing a mask, going to the bank drive-through window and skipping lunch. We did tentatively start to eat lunch out a few times though I really didn't feel completely comfortable. We also tried the movies once a month or two ago as I had a movie gift card! There were only 4 of us in the theatre so things were okay but it would have to be a really good movie to go back! (Still have credits on that gift card!)


In any case this past Thursday after The Dollar Tree we decided to have lunch at the new nearby Quarterdeck and it almost seemed normal. The restaurant had a good, but not overcrowded, group of diners and we are able to take off the mask while eating and drinking but one thing was different!


I love their Jambalaya but I was in the mood for something I usually don't have and after looking over the menu I picked the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with curly fries. For whatever reason, and I still haven't figured it out, though the sandwich was good I couldn't/wouldn't eat it all and left most of the fries over.
Stranger was that I wasn't hungry that night either! ME? NOT HUNGRY? I know I have been having some medical problems but this was serious!!


The next day I went for my second vaccine shot and the only reaction I had was a solid 12 hours sleep that night!
I have been juggling between 3 doctors who don't seem to communicate with each other and today is the third week since I had 3 possible reasons for why I wasn't feeling well plus the news that I had to have a replacement put in for my pig aorta valve I had put in 13 years ago. I was also told I needed to have 3 tests taken of which 0 have taken place.


Today is my no more nice Martin and I plan to spend all day, if not 2 as I am sure that is how long it will take to get those doctors talking to each other! And then a third day to, maybe. get some answers or at least the tests set up for next week!


I don't like experiencing not being hungry and not 'cleaning my plate'--time to get normal, whatever that might be, with or without masks, again!
